Topcon TRC-NW6S Non-Mydriatic Retinal Camera
The new TRC-NW6S Non-Mydriatic Retinal Camera is the ideal instrument
for obtaining detailed images of the retina. These images are beneficial
for photo-documentation of structural changes that may occur within
the eye. These changes can stem from various
systemic and ocular conditions. The most common conditions are diabetes,
high blood pressure, macular degeneration, and glaucoma.
The camera (Nikon D70 6.1 Megapixels) and the TRC-NW6S feature
eight peripheral fixation points as well as a built-in standard
central fixation point, which provide fixed, reproducible fields.
The main optical system in the TRC-NW6S incorporates a dual magnification
mechanism to allow for digital video capture of either 45° or
30° fields. To assist in capturing multiple images using today’s
advanced video technology, the camera incorporates five flash levels
to choose from. This gives the user greater flexibility for capturing
all patient images with the most effective level of illumination
for each image.
The TRC-NW6S is compatible with Topcon’s IMAGEnet™
MOSAIC 2000 software. Once connected to our IMAGEnet™ system,
the fixed field positions (9) are automatically forwarded to the
computer so that a composite image may be quickly created in the
computer for printout and / or evaluation. This composite image
will provide a larger picture of the retina and allow the doctors
to view more surface area of the retina. The increased viewing area
of the retina is essential for identifying and diagnosing common
retinal conditions.
