Dr. Steven
Guzik
Dr. Steven Guzik graduated from Loras College in May of 1994 with
a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry.
He obtained his Optometric Degree from the Illinois College of Optometry
in May of 1998. While attending ICO, Dr. Guzik was a recipient of
the Southwest Contact Lens Society Scholarship. At this time, Dr.
Guzik and his wife Stephanie live in Chicago.
Dr. Guzik was an assistant clinical moderator for optometric students
from the Illinois College of Optometry and Indiana University while
working at the Wesley-Jessen Corporation. He had the opportunity
to aid fourth year optometric students with clinical decisions on
the diagnosis and treatment of many ocular ailments. While at Wesley-Jessen,
he obtained extensive knowledge and experience with several types
of contacts and fitting techniques. In addition, Dr. Guzik has participated
in contact lens workshops for third year optometric students at
the Illinois College of Optometry since 1999. Since May of 2001,
he served as a clinical proctor with the National Board of Examiners
in Optometry. As a proctor, his responsibility was critiquing the
clinical skills of fourth year optometry students. Dr. Guzik has
spent the last 7 years working in a diversified, family practice
in the south suburbs of Chicago. He is currently a co-owner of Primary
Eyecare Professionals in Frankfort, IL. He specializes in advanced
contact lens fittings, in ocular disease cases, and in pediatric
optometry.
Dr. Guzik is a member of the Illinois Optometric Association and
the American Optometric Association. In addition, he is a member of the Illinois
Society for the Prevention of Blindness. Dr. Guzik was an active
member of the Homewood Rotary Club. The Homewood Rotary Club sponsors
the annual Homewood Health Fair in which he volunteers his time
conducting vision screenings to hundreds of local residents. Finally,
he is a member of the Frankfort Chamber of Commerce.
